Hands-On Care for Dysautonomia and Nervous System Regulation

Physician-delivered osteopathic treatment in Decatur, GA, for an autonomic nervous system that’s out of balance.

Dysautonomia means the autonomic nervous system, the part that runs heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature without you thinking about it, isn’t regulating well. It often shows up as fatigue, rapid heartbeat, brain fog, temperature sensitivity, and difficulty tolerating upright posture. POTS is one common form.

Nervous system regulation is the foundation of my work. Through gentle, hands-on treatment, I help your body shift out of persistent stress patterns and toward regulation, safety, and rest. The goal is ease of motion, easier breathing, unrestricted circulation, and a sense of safety in your body.

Most of the visit is spent lying on the table, and we adjust your positioning so you’re comfortable.

Consent

Touch happens only with your consent, and you can pause or change anything at any time.

Comfort

Your comfort is our guide. Positioning and pace adjust to you.

Being believed

Your symptoms are real, and what you tell me about your experience matters.

  • Fatigue Feeling exhausted, or wired and tired at the same time.
  • Rapid heartbeat and lightheadedness Symptoms that get worse when standing or sitting upright.
  • Brain fog Trouble thinking clearly, especially on harder days.
  • Temperature and sensory sensitivity Feeling too hot, too cold, or easily overwhelmed.
  • Overlap with hypermobility and EDS Dysautonomia and connective tissue disorders often show up together, and treatment can address both. More about hypermobility and EDS care

This care works alongside your cardiologist, neurologist, and primary care physician. It does not replace medical management from your other doctors, and you should have a primary care physician managing your overall health. You don’t need a diagnosis or a referral to come in.

Is this kind of care right for me?

This is gentle, hands-on care, and it’s different from most medical visits. It’s a good fit if you’re curious about the process and comfortable with some uncertainty.

Each visit is exploratory. I use my hands to feel where things are tight and where they move easily, and I ask what you notice as we go. Part of the work is learning to notice what’s happening in yourself, like where you hold tension or what helps you settle. That awareness is a big part of what makes treatment work, and it builds over time.

I can’t tell you ahead of time how many visits you’ll need, and changes are often subtle at first. This isn’t something I do to you. We work on it together. Not sure it’s for you? Start with a free 15 minute call.

During treatment I often work quietly, because it helps both of us notice what’s changing. I check in as we go, and you can ask a question or pause at any time. At the end, I ask what you noticed. The focus is on your experience, not on what I find.

Can an osteopath help with POTS?

Osteopathic treatment can help some of what comes with POTS: tension, poor sleep, headaches and a nervous system stuck in fight or flight. My care centers on nervous system regulation. It doesn’t replace your cardiologist or neurologist, and I’m glad to work alongside them.

Is there a doctor in Atlanta who treats dysautonomia with hands-on care?

Yes. I’m an osteopathic physician in Decatur, near Atlanta, and many of my patients have POTS or other forms of dysautonomia, often along with hypermobile EDS or MCAS.

What if I feel lightheaded during a visit?

We go at your pace. You can sit up, pause or change position at any time. The office is set up with POTS in mind, with salty snacks and electrolytes on hand.

Do I need a referral or a diagnosis?

No. You can book directly, or start with a free 15 minute call.

Do you prescribe medications for MCAS or other conditions?

No. I don’t prescribe or manage medications. That stays with your allergist, immunologist or primary care physician. My care is hands-on and works alongside theirs.
